Motion

The shutter speed controls motion in photographs. You can give the feeling of motion by blurring. The shutter speed settings can freeze extremely fast movement and make it visible to the human eye.

Still Life

"Depth of Field" is the distance in front of and beyond the subject that appears to be in focus. You are able to control depth of field by changing the shutter speed of the camera. The photo above has a medium depth of field because the foreground and background are out of focus but the middle ground is in focus.

Hello, my name is Masey Kirschnick. I am a student at Charlottesville High School and have enrolled in a basic photography class. Next year, I plan to move onto commercial photography and hopefully have a career as a professional photographer. I enjoy shooting landscape, animal, and sport pictures.
